Paul L. We have stayed several times at the Novotel Cardiff and always been satisfied previously. When having a shower the plug hold scum and dirt floated around in a pool around your feet. It was our first night away with our 8 month old baby so who has already fallen asleep on the bed. Breakfast was fine, dairy free milk available, staff lovely and helpful and reasonable choice. We used the pool which was nice and warm, although the floors under the lockers were bitty and dirty.

Ben W. Over all a very good stay. Hotel was well situated. Very clean and well presented. Room was a very good size. Bed was very comfy and bathroom was a good size. Hotel was quite. Only problem we had was that the room cleaners left our room unlocked this was reported to reception who apologised.

Bar and restaurant where nice with a good choice of drinks and good breakfast. Food in the restaurant was good quality and tasted nice but was a little pricey. Only problem was the heating didn't work so very cold room, as we arrived in the evening you were unable to look at it. Morlais D. We had a few issues during our stay. Firstly our room was dirty and had to be cleaned. There was an issue with the drains in the bathroom.

The coffee machine leaked. Breakfast was poor, with cold coffee each morning. Breakfast was good and had varieties. The staff serving were so nice and polite.

I rated 7 out of 10 because the housekeeper mistakenly took our towels away Thinking it's theirs and although I reported, no one got back to me until 2 days after I returned home. I think this should not have been the case.

We had a very enjoyable time at the hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful however the room was very dated. There was also a big red stain on the carpet. It's shocking to read through recent reviews and find myself nodding at all of the faults pointed out. I wish I had read them through properly, rather than relying on Novotel's previously good reputation.

I have no idea how they're still making money, given the amount of refunds they're having to make. All of the carpets NEED a deep steam clean; there are marks everywhere. The whole place needs a once over. Especially post-Covid! The staff at breakfast are the standout here. One older man with a bun in particular was attentive and kind, offering the professional service one would expect.

The hotel needs more staff and a big clean. The pool facilities were fine, but they do need more chairs by the pool, or just another area to place your towel. When we went down we had to put our towels on the floor as the 4 chairs were taken. It was also a shame to see that they are using single-use bowls and cups at breakfast.

Why not use proper ones? They are better for the environment even if they are compostable cups, they are likely being thrown into the garbage, I'd guess, which means they just go to landfill anyway. All in all, it was a disappointment to see what could be a wonderful hotel really drop the ball.

I sincerely wonder what the manager is doing. Frankly, I was hesitant to leave a terrible review as I know from experience that many will choose to punish staff, rather than taking the information on board and understanding why things are the way that are. Are they understaffed? Do the people in charge of this hotel ever actually 'stay' in these rooms? I doubt it. It's unfathomable that whoever is in charge does not take more pride in their hotel, ensuring that both staff and customers are happy.

Currently, they're running this place into the ground. Disappointed at breakfast as our room was I do not expect to be served with a paper cup for coffee and a plastic cup for juice. If you are served at the bar you get a cup and saucer. Also call me old fashioned but I do not expect guests to be allowed in for breakfast wearing their pj"s. The customer service and food were really great. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were served and timed perfectly. Although I stayed as a quarantine room, I really enjoyed staying here and will also be At weekend they have special offer and room are clean and nice ever. Lei Lei and her receptionists Supra, Hanna Since Yesterday is friday night and crowed at reception , the girls form reception welcome and serve the same service to every Marvelous service I appreciated it Their business as usual in these day.
